Many thanks to Hideyuki Emoto for these pictures of this year's WMDF. We hope that they bring happy memories for those that were there, and encourage those that missed it to come and look for themselves in the future.

Photo Gallery 2009moreWe have started to hear that groups are arriving safely home in their countries. Tears were shed at Hakodate Airport, but we will meet again soon in the Long Now. WMDF sincerely appreciates its new friends around the world, and is especially proud to have increased the numbers of people who have travelled all the way to Japan to visit just one place: Hakodate. Until the next times, and places.
All groups performed on the same stage for the only time in the Festival. WMDF thanks everyone for a hugely successful year. We will be back again in 2010. Expect news and details soon, as well as a picture gallery of this year's events.
Many thanks to the dedicated audience and performers who helped us complete our final outdoor stage. The rain held off for an hour, but we all got wet. Still, hundreds stayed until the end and were rewarded with a miraculously dry performance by Hinokiya. For all those wanting more, the performance at the Citizen's Hall tonight (Thurs) is the final chance in 2009.
Thursday's rain has accelerated. The final concert at Motomachi park may have to be cancelled. Information on any cancellattion will appear here as soon as possible. We will not hold the concert at the secondary stage: either we will run the final event in the park, or it will be called off.
WMDF regrets to announce the Oyo State Cultural Dance Group have had to cancel their participation. The group themselves made every effort to ensure their participation, even for just the end of the Festival, but red tape and deadlines were against them. We hope to see them next year.
WMDF is always looking for volunteers to help with the running of Festival. It's fun. Why not join in?
